Licensed Comics As a subsidiary of Culturecom Limited, Citicomics Limited strives to provide customers with high-quality Japanese manga. Culturecom Limited is the first company in Hong Kong to obtain translation rights and publish licenses from Japan copyright owner. As early as the 1980s, Culturecom Limited has already launched the authorized Hong Kong translation of Doraemon (ドラえもん, by Fujiko F. Fujio) and Dragon Ball (ドラゴンボール, by Toriyama Akira). Notably, the sales of Dragon Ball exceeded more than 200,000 copies, making it the highest-selling manga in Hong Kong. We have also introduced most of the works (nearly 70%) of Osamu Tezuka, who is also known as "the God of Manga", to Hong Kong, with as many as 300 different titles, including many classic masterpieces such as Astro Boy (鉄腕アトム), Phoenix (火の鳥), Black Jack (ブラック・ジャック), Princess Knight (リボンの騎士). Those best-selling titles have started a Japanese Manga trend in Hong Kong. Between 1993 and 2008, Culturecom Limited published EX-am which is the first weekly Shōnen manga magazine in Hong Kong with Japanese Publisher Shueisha’s license. EX-am has sold over 100,000 copies per week, and many acknowledged series have been run in it, including the following titles: ‧Dragon Ball Z (ドラゴンボールZ), by Toriyama Akira ‧Captain Tsubasa (キャプテン翼), by Yōichi Takahashi ‧Rurouni Kenshin (るろうに剣心-明治剣客浪漫譚-), by Nobuhiro Watsuki ‧Yu-Gi-Oh!
