Culturecom Holdings Limited, listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (00343.HK), is one of the largest comic book publishers and media content providers in Asia with over 40 years of experience and dedication in the comic book industry.

Culturecom's core ideology is to “broaden Chinese culture and encourage social development”. With the help of emerging technologies, Culturecom seeks to both bring new content to local consumers and breakthrough to new markets.

Since 1970s, our comics have enjoyed wide recognition in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Southeast Asia and amongst Chinese-speaking population in other regions around the globe. Culturecom owns over two hundred comic titles and the catalogue spans across various genres ranging from Martial Arts action to contemporary romance, targeting the full spectrum of comic book readers. Among them, our “Dragon Tiger Gate” and “Chinese Hero” hold records of Hong Kong’s highest-selling weekly comic magazine and bi-weekly comic magazine respectively.


Not being confined to just local Chinese comics, the Group became the first company in Hong Kong to gain official license to Japanese manga (Dragonball, Doraemon etc) and western comics.

Besides just publishing comics, Culturecom started licensing Chinese Gamers Corporation to develop the Chinese Hero Online Game in 2009. The game earned NT$ 2,200,000,000 (USD $66,000,000) in two years, setting the record for the highest profits in the China and Southeast Asia video game industry.
Culturecom has also developed huge breakthroughs in technology. In 1999, inventor of the Cangie Input Method and hailed as “The Father of Modern Chinese Computing”, Mr. Chu Bong Foo joined Culturecom as our Chairman and led the Group to the forefront of the creative media and technology businesses. In 2000, Culturecom established a joint venture with the Chinese Academy of Sciences and successfully developed a Chinese Linux 2000 office software. In July 2003, Culturecom developed the first computer Central Processing Unit (CPU) to have Chinese language embedded in its core, through a co-development partnership with IBM. In 2005 Culturecom purchased Crusoe processing technology from renowned American chip manufacturer Transmeta, becoming the first foreign company to obtain American CPU core processor technology.
In 2011, Culturecom created Ucan.com in partnership with Asian pop icon Jay Chou. The platform combines advanced cloud computing technology, Jay Chou’s creative vision and Culturecom’s vast array of comic book properties in an immersive digital world called Ucan Cloud City – a pioneer of the “Metaverse” concept of the time.
Since 2016, we began investing various enabling technologies, as a means to expand our cultural reach and lay out a foundation for next-generation comics culture. In 2018, we invested into big data analytics start ups, venturing into digital marketing business developments in Greater China, achieving a revenue growth of 81% CAGR as of March 2021. In mid-2021, Culturecom announced the acquisition of Imitation Brain Technology (Shenzhen) Co Ltd, a technology start-up specialized in Chinese AI technologies, with the goal of combining Mr. Chu Bong Foo’s 50+ years of Chinese computing research and Culturecom’s 20+ years of investment in Chinese computing, to develop the Chinese AI infrastrcuture and further transform Culturecom in the digital age.
In April 2022, Mr. Jason Wong Kon Man, hailed as “the godfather of SPACs in Asia”, joined Culturecom as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, leveraging on his over 25 years of investment experience and resources in gaming, cultural and creative industries, intelligent voice recognition and other AI technologies, to assist Culturecom in enriching our base of IP and technological assets. We believe that Mr. Wong would help Culturecom pivot our strong foundation of IPs in grasping opportunities in the fields of blockchain, digital assets, and the Metaverse, to maximize the value of our IPs and to create the next-generation creative media. Culturecom, a leading digital technology company, 飛龍芯類腦智能科技(珠海橫琴)有限公司, has recently entered into a joint venture with iFlytek, a leading intelligent language company. Co., Ltd. (002230.SZ) and Chinese artificial intelligence ("AI") language understanding chip supplier Imitation Brain Technology (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd. jointly developed the Chinese offline speech understanding chip - "飛龍芯", which is used for cultural and creative development.
